Episode #003: Trust Issues

Image
I don't know if I  can trust Scown anymore.  The other night my phone was at 59% battery and his was at 39. Has he been using his phone without me?? Doesn't he know the mission rules?? Didn't he think I'd maybe want to watch Safety Zone too?? In any case, it was a great week. Let's talk about it... Time FLIES at the MTC. I can't believe most people only get 2 weeks here!! I couldn't leave! I'd miss my teachers, the chocolate milk, running into old friends,, the boot camp vibe, the noisy dorm halls, walking through push up contests, and most of all, district 23-H. 8 weeks though, that sounds better. :) Quote of the week: "What's the difference between 에 and 애?" - 저 "You will learn.." - Kim 형제님 Unbridled patriotism: We went to the top of T4 to watch a fireworks show. Hilarity ensued.  Elder Hem tried to join a game the Korean sisters were playing, seemed kind of like the game of "concentration"  (no repeats or hesitation)

Episode #002: the case of the missing 3-in-one shampoo

I made it!! MTC in Provo Utah! I love it here. Let me tell you about it... Last days at home: Online MTC was good overall, but I'm definitely glad to be in person. I had Zupas for my last meal. They were having an off night and were out of oyster crackers, but they're usually super good. I gave my parents blessings. That was cool. It was my first time. Then the extended family came over and I said by to them. Travel day: We woke up at 5:30, zipped up my bags, and went to the airport. We took some pictures before security and I said bye to my family. Later, skaters!! I met this elder in line for security. He said his dad went to Korea and wasn't fluent by the end of his mission. Thanks buddy, very comforting. Elder Tingey was way behind me in line, but the lines split and his went way faster than mine. So that was rigged. The one hour flight was nice. Me and elder tingey and a couple others were waiting for the shuttle, but when the shuttle came they took the other three, an

Episode #001: The Barefoot Missionary

Well, it's official, I'm a missionary!! Without even leaving the house. Let me tell you about it: Week Summary: It's been a week filled to the brim with Zoom calls, scripture study, Korean flashcards, and bowls of cereal. I'm already super tired, and I'm already super happy too! :) I love my district! They're so cool! And my teachers are awesome. I've absolutely loved my first week as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There's been some adjusting to do for sure. I'm feeling the social withdrawals, and it's kind of a weird half-step into missionary life, to be taking all the classes and diving into the language but still sleeping in my own bed. I guess I kind of miss music and TV, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. My sister Mollie does a great job of protecting me from breaking the rules, snapping at anyone who doesn't pause their show when I walk by or hums a song that isn't a hymn. When my mom st
